Family Bank has today donated Intensive Care Unit (ICU) beds valued at Sh 3.08 Million to the County Government of Kiambu to support emergency response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“As a bank, we believe in growing a sustainable business with the resources that we have, especially during difficult times as this. For mutual business operations to thrive, we need healthy customers, stakeholders and conducive environment to drive growth. The ICU beds will play a fundamental role in the event we have to deal with patients around Kiambu county. We all have a role in flattening the curve,” said Family Bank CEO Rebecca Mbithi.
The donation was handed over by the Bank’s Chairman Dr. Wilfred Kiboro and the Chief Executive Officer Ms Rebecca Mbithi to the County’s Governor H.E. James Nyoro and the County Executive Committee – Health Mary Wanjiku Kamau.
“We thank captains of industry such as Family Bank for standing with Kiambu County. We have set up a dedicated COVID centre which we have named Kiambu Covid-19 Centre Limuru,” said Kiambu County Governor H.E James Nyoro.
The ICU beds will be used at the County’s quarantine centres. This comes after the County began its mass testing for COVID-19.
